URBAN TRILOGY #1: GAME OF LIFE

Europan11 competition / Monthey (Switzerland)

Architecture is often a bottom up process that isn’t concerned with people. Is it possible to start a design process without making “forms”?

Is it possible to find a way to organize a functional program starting from an objective point of view?

We do believe in a kind of Nonlinear Process that might explore self-organization and evolution, starting from the rules of nature.

A new interaction model to create a desirable scenery for potential users, actors who will activate new social, political and cultural dynamics.

A tool that could be used to organize these new kinds of flexible and informal spaces.

So that a large number of subjects could modify functions and forms through a permanent participation process.

A simple example of how basic rules can generate a complex entity

is "Game of Life", a mathematic model developed by J. Conway in 1968.
