OLD STUFF MAKES NEW SENSE / RISANAMENTO CONSERVATIVO DI 321MQ IN AFFITTO. Sometimes the house itself takes the project home

Maria Vittoria An old building of the early 1800s, dwelling for a young family collecting contemporary art.
The restoration work grew to explorate the history of the house, by discovering both human and architectural traces, to reach a new ironic aesthetic: wooden frames and blocks in the walls, fake covers, fragments from old wallpapers, hidden paints, shapes from ancient paintings, abandoned furnitures. Whole works on a daring twiddled floor, made of exagonal vintage tiles.

Una casa di inizio ‘800, dimora di una giovane famiglia che colleziona arte contemporanea.
Un lavoro di risanamento trasfigurato in provocazione, per valorizzare tutto ciò che la casa a poco a poco svelava: telai e tasselli di legno nelle murature, tamponamenti posticci, brandelli di vecchie tappezzerie, decorazioni cristallizzate, impronte di quadri antichi, accessori abbandonati.
Tutto su un nuovo pavimento ruotato di 9°, di piastrelle d’epoca esagonali.
