TORINO TOUR GUIDE: VISUAL INTRO TO PORTA SUSA AND CAMPIDOGLIO AREA

Depicting the invisible city

Torino Tour Guide In 2005 we were asked to visually represent the area between Porta Susa and Campidoglio in Torino, Italy

The work was included in the Torino Tour guide, both into the first edition of 2005 and into the 2008 one, published by Camera di Commercio di Torino and Ordine degli Architetti PCC della Provincia di Torino

Art direction of the book by: Enzo Biffi Gentili

Torino Tour Guide "Like monotonous, sad songs that may finish in a ripple of silvery laughter, all those old roads that run from east to west, are emerging as wide sunlit drives or opening into piazzas and gardens, and leading to a new, youthful Turin that is crossed by wide avenues, full of greenery, and rebelling against ancient architectonic discipline, where a grand block is followed by a congenial house, a heavy pillar by a thin column, a small railed-in balcony by an ample balustraded terrazzo, tedious yellow by a myriad of light, laughing colours; by a Turin that is regular and symmetrical, yet without monotony, with the great mouth of Piazza dello Statuto opened wide towards the Alps, as if to breathe in great gulps of the mountains' healthy, vivifying air."
